Hydrodyne Engines


These are Stirling cycle engines with a fluid piston acted upon by a heat-induced pressure oscillation resulting from cyclic heating and cooling of a working gas (supercritical water) inside the engine.

Antoine Equation

Supercritical Water  Temperature and pressure of a fixed volume of water are described by the Antoine Equation up to the critical point. Beyond the critical point, water appears to behave like an ideal gas, but with some interesting changes to its properties.

Hydrodyne Examples Hydrodynes engines are Stirling cycle engines with a single fluid piston. Here I’ll try to share some of what I’ve done, what I’ve learned, and what I plan to do.
